Why we created CYBEMY?

The cybersecurity industry is facing a talent crisis. Millions of positions go unfilled every year — not because people don't want to enter the field, but because the path in is broken.

The cybersecurity industry has a problem nobody wants to talk about out loud.

There are millions of unfilled cybersecurity positions worldwide. Organisations are breached daily. Ransomware shuts down hospitals. Critical infrastructure is targeted by nation-states. And yet — we don't have enough skilled people to defend against it.

This isn't a funding problem. It isn't a technology problem. It's a people problem.

The gap is enormous — and growing

According to ISC², the global cybersecurity workforce gap currently sits at over 4 million professionals. That number has been growing every year for the past decade, even as more people try to enter the field.

Think about that for a moment. The fastest-growing threat landscape in history. One of the highest-paying career sectors. And still — a massive, widening shortage of qualified people.

Why?

The path in is broken

The traditional route into cybersecurity looks something like this: get a computer science degree, self-teach through fragmented YouTube videos and forums, collect certifications that test memorisation rather than skill, apply for jobs that demand 3 years of experience for entry-level roles.

It's expensive. It's slow. And most of the time, it doesn't actually build the skills employers need.

Universities teach theory but rarely touch real-world attack and defence scenarios. Certification prep courses teach you how to pass an exam, not how to think like an attacker. Boot camps are expensive and inconsistent.

The result? People who've spent years and thousands of euros on training who still can't walk into a job and perform.

Experience is the bottleneck

The most common feedback we hear from hiring managers is this: "We can't find candidates with practical experience."

Not theoretical knowledge. Experience. The ability to pick up an unfamiliar tool, face a problem they've never seen before, and work through it methodically.

That kind of skill doesn't come from reading slides. It comes from doing — from breaking things, investigating incidents, building and attacking systems in realistic environments.

The gap between knowing and doing is where most cybersecurity education fails.

Why we built CYBEMY?

We built CYBEMY because we believe the problem is solvable.

Not by adding more certification prep. Not by another LinkedIn Learning course. But by building structured, practical learning from the ground up — where every concept is tied to a hands-on exercise, every pathway leads somewhere real, and every learner finishes with experience they can actually demonstrate.

CYBEMY Academy provides the structured foundation. CYBEMY Labs will put that theory into practice in real browser-based environments. CYBEMY CTF will let learners compete, benchmark themselves, and build the track record that employers actually care about.

We're not building another e-learning platform. We're building the pipeline the industry is missing.

Who is this for?

Everyone who was told cybersecurity is "too technical" or "not for people like them." Students who don't know where to start. Career changers who can't afford to go back to university. Teams whose employees can't spot a phishing email. Schools that have no cybersecurity curriculum at all.

The world needs cyber experts. We're here to build them.
